If Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in App Store search, first check the Apple Account used for Media & Purchases, then check Country/Region, and finally use the product page’s message to identify the issue. This guide is for iPhone and iPad users who can’t find the app, see a region-unavailable message, or aren’t sure which account is used for purchases. You can check these details without changing your account region or adjusting Shadowrocket settings.
1. No search results and unavailable in your store are different outcomes
Shadowrocket is a paid Apple-platform client, primarily for iPhone and iPad, and is available exclusively through the App Store. The developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited, and the product page’s app ID is id932747118. Compatibility, system requirements, and purchase eligibility for Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision are as listed on the App Store page.
If Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in mainland China App Store search, don’t assume from search results alone that the app is no longer available. Search terms, the current store’s distribution, account restrictions, and the store’s loading status can all affect what appears. If the app isn’t offered in your current store, trying different search terms won’t make it available for purchase.
| What you see | What it tells you | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| No search results | Only that this search didn’t find the app | Search for the full name, Shadowrocket, and check the product page |
| Message says the app isn’t available in your country or region | The current App Store storefront can’t offer this product | Check the purchasing account’s Country/Region |
| Price and purchase button are shown | The current page offers a way to purchase | Check the developer, device compatibility, and any message at checkout |
| The page keeps loading or can’t connect | Store availability hasn’t been determined yet | First check your connection, account authentication, or App Store service status |
Seeing the product description on the web doesn’t mean it’s available to buy in the App Store currently signed in on your device. The /us/ in the web address points to the US storefront. If tapping the link prompts you to switch storefronts, read the message carefully; the URL alone doesn’t mean your account region has changed.
2. Check the account actually used for purchases in Settings
Apple ID is now called Apple Account. The account at the top of your device for iCloud may differ from the one used for Media & Purchases. To check your App Store region, look at the latter, not just the name at the top of Settings. The steps below use English interface labels with brief explanations; wording may vary slightly by system version.
-
Open your account page
Open the system Settings, tap your name at the top, then find Media & Purchases. Here, Settings means the device’s system settings, not Settings in Shadowrocket.
-
Check the purchasing account
Tap Media & Purchases and check the account shown there. Match it against your purchase history; don’t rely only on your device name or whether iCloud Photos is syncing.
-
View account details
Select View Account and complete authentication if prompted. If you can’t open the account details, resolve the authentication issue first; don’t assume a page that fails to load means a regional restriction.
-
Note the store region
Go to Country/Region and note the country or region shown. Full path: Settings → your name at the top → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region.
If Country/Region shows mainland China, use the results shown by the mainland China storefront for this account. For now, just check the details; you don’t need to select Change Country or Region to test search results. Viewing your account information and submitting a region change are different actions, and changing the region affects your account’s store relationship.
3. Cross-check your account and the product page in the App Store
After checking Settings, open the App Store, tap the account picture in the upper-right corner, and verify the name and account identifier shown on the account page. On some system versions, you can tap the account information at the top and authenticate to open account settings that include Country/Region. If that option isn’t available, use the Settings path in the previous section.
- Check the search term: Search for the full English name,
Shadowrocket. A nickname may help you recognize the app, but it isn’t a reliable search term in the store. - Confirm the app: The name is Shadowrocket, the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited, and the app ID is
932747118. Also check the official app icon on the product page. - Separate the page from the account: The product description in a browser, the price shown in the App Store, and the account message at checkout refer to different stages.
- Keep the exact message: Note whether it says the app is unavailable, requests authentication, reports a payment failure, or says the device isn’t compatible. The exact message is more useful than “I can’t download it” when contacting account support.
Our Get the app and verify the official listing page provides a direct App Store link. Use it to confirm the app’s identity, then check the message shown when your device opens the store. If you’re asked to switch storefronts, go back and verify the purchasing account and Country/Region before confirming; don’t repeatedly accept prompts without knowing the account status.
4. Global Routing does not determine your App Store storefront
People who already have Shadowrocket installed can confuse whether the store page loads with whether their current account can make a purchase. Global Routing on Home affects how network requests are handled; it doesn’t change your Apple Account’s Country/Region. The options below describe Shadowrocket’s routing behavior and assume you already have your own service and configuration.
Config: Keep your existing rules
RecommendedWith Config selected under Global Routing, traffic is handled according to the rules in your active configuration. Keeping your existing working configuration while checking your account helps avoid changing several variables at once. PROXY and DIRECT choices in your rules don’t change your store account region.
Best for: Checking App Store account details with a stable configuration already in place
Direct: Check loading over a direct connection
With Direct selected under Global Routing, traffic is handled using a direct connection. You can use this to see whether a store loading issue is related to your current routing. Even if the page loads again, check Country/Region and the product page message separately.
Best for: Troubleshooting a page that won’t load when your network allows direct access to the store
How to tell: Separate loading failures from region messages
If the product page clearly says the app isn’t available in your country or region, stop switching Global Routing back and forth and check Media & Purchases instead. If the account page won’t open either, restore the store connection first, then make a judgment once you have a clear message.
Likewise, changing DOMAIN-SUFFIX, IP-CIDR, GEOIP, or FINAL rules, or adjusting On Demand, won’t change your App Store storefront. Rules handle request matching and routing; On Demand connects according to conditions. These settings are separate from the purchasing account’s region.
5. Check account requirements before considering a region change
Your store region should match your circumstances and Apple’s requirements. The purpose of this guide is to identify the cause—not to tell everyone who can’t find the app to change regions. If you have a genuine reason, such as moving, check the account’s requirements before proceeding and follow the system prompts.
- Account balance: Check whether you still have store credit. A region change may require you to resolve the balance first; don’t assume credit can be used across storefronts.
- Active subscriptions: Check any subscriptions that are still active and their renewal or expiration dates. Some may need to be canceled, with the subscription period allowed to end first; follow Apple’s prompts.
- Pending transactions: Check whether pre-orders, rentals, or refunds are still being processed. Don’t mistake a restriction caused by a pending transaction for a Shadowrocket restriction.
- Family and payment information: Family Sharing status may affect a region change. Your payment method and billing address must also meet Apple’s current requirements for the destination region.
- Existing content: Content availability may differ between storefronts. Before changing regions, check whether you’ll still be able to access your existing purchases; a region change isn’t just a display setting with no consequences.
Don’t show your full account identifier, billing address, or payment details in public screenshots. If you need help diagnosing the issue, you can show the Country/Region and error message while obscuring personal information. If you don’t meet the requirements, resolve the account issues first rather than repeatedly signing out, signing in, or resubmitting a purchase.
6. Common questions about search, purchases, and redownloading
Why can’t I find it even though I’m outside mainland China?
First check Settings → your name at the top → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Your physical location, device location, and purchasing account’s storefront region are separate. Being in another region doesn’t mean your account has switched storefronts; check the product page in your current store.
The region looks right, but there are still no search results. What should I do?
Search for the full name, Shadowrocket, and open its product page through our app page. If a price appears, check the developer and compatibility. If the page says it isn’t available in your region, recheck the account identifier under Media & Purchases. If the page is blank or keeps loading, check your connection and authentication first; a blank page alone doesn’t prove the app is unavailable in your region.
I bought it before, but now I see a price. Will I have to pay again?
Don’t confirm the purchase yet. Open your App Store account page and search for Shadowrocket under Apps or Purchased (the label varies by system version). Check that you’re using the original purchasing account and whether the app was hidden. A one-time purchase isn’t transferable to every account; redownloading also depends on store availability and device compatibility.
I can see the price, but can’t pay. Is it a region issue?
A failed payment alone isn’t enough to tell. Note the full message shown at checkout, then check whether your account needs verification, your payment method is accepted, or purchase restrictions apply. Ask to Buy or Screen Time restrictions in your family may also affect purchases; check Family settings and system restrictions separately. Changing Shadowrocket settings won’t resolve an account payment issue.
7. What to do after checking
A useful check should give you four details: whether you’re using the right purchasing account, what Country/Region shows, what the product page says, and whether your device meets compatibility requirements. These details help narrow the issue to account region, store connection, purchase authentication, or device compatibility—instead of repeating the same search.
- Available in your current store: Verify Shadowrocket, Shadow Launch Technology Limited, and the app ID, then proceed according to the price and purchase terms shown in the App Store.
- Unavailable in your current store: Keep the message and check whether your account region reflects your actual circumstances. If you need to address the account region, first review the requirements in the previous section.
- Already purchased: Check the original purchasing account, Purchased items, and hidden purchases first. Don’t pay again before confirming the account.
- Need to configure it after installation? See the user guide for Home, Config, and first-connection authorization, then follow the details for a service you already have.
